Chennai is the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the biggest industrial and commercial centre in South India and a major cultural, economic and educational centre. North Chennai is primarily an industrial area and South & West Chennai is home to a growing number of information technology firms, financial companies and call centres.
The city is diverse, with temples, parks, beaches, zoo, urban areas, and centres of historical and cultural significance - most notably, Mahabalipuram. Chennai is also a major centre for music, art and culture in India. Many large carnatic and western music concerts take palce in Chennai.
T-Nagar is one of the biggest shopping district in India by revenue. Majority of the T-Nagar shops are selling textiles or gold jewelry and it has been the heart of shopping not only for Tamil Nadu, but also the whole of South India. T.Nagar is centrally located with both residential and commercial activities. Panagal park and Dr.Natesan park are the most prominent parks in TNagar. T.Nagar is easily accessible from most parts of the city by bus/train.
